JAMEA JOHNSONSECRETARY
Hello, my name is Jamea Johnson. I hold the position of Secretary of TJCSGA’s region II board, representing Tarrant County College’s Southeast campus. I am a double major, in both Psychology and Legal Studies. At TCC Southeast, I am the ‘22-’23 Senate Chair of SGA, I also served as the ‘21-’22 Secretary. I am a member of the Pre-Law Society and Psychology club. My on-campus job experience includes being a Peer Leader and presenting New Student Orientations, volunteer work for the Student Activities department, and my position as a Student Employee for the Intercultural Network.
Outside of campus, I worked in management at Six Flags Over Texas, and I gained lots of my customer service experience from my position at Chili’s. On the weekends, I am a Patient Care Technician for a residential-care facility, specializing in assisting the elderly and/or severely disabled individuals in their day-to-day care. As far as hobbies go, I am a thirteen-year classically-trained pianist, but I would like to learn the guitar, saxophone, and harp. I happen to come from a musical family: my grandmother, brother, and I all play piano; both my uncle and father played the saxophone, and my aunt sang in the Mississippi Mass Choir, which is how I ended up singing for the Mississippi statewide Girls’ Choir. I spend a majority of my time reading, brushing up on my musical skills, and finding new ways to get involved in the local community. I used SGA as a way to connect with my student body, and I am now utilizing TJCSGA to represent my institution and the region as a whole. TCC Southeast’s SGA is the only SGA in our district with a full executive board, as well as all of our additional officer positions being filled. Our institution will work to ensure that the role of Secretary is executed as efficiently as we can, and to contribute our time and energy into the Region II Board. |
