FatIma CruzTreasurerBorn, raised, and living in Dallas, TX. I plan to earn my Associates in Surgical Technology at El Centro, and shortly after transfer to UT Dallas to earn my Masters in Applied Cognition and Neuroscience. Another organization, aside from SGA, I became a part of at El Centro is LULAC (League of United Latin American Citizens). Initially I had no plans to join SGA, one day I had attended a meeting solely for the purpose of earning extra credit. As I became more involved, my passion for becoming a student leader grew. I wanted to do more than just be a student that attends El Centro, I wanted to be the voice of others. Taking on the role of an officer in my local SGA has truly shaped me into the leader I have become. SGA has taught me more than just leadership, but also communication, responsibility, and accountability. Plans for the following year is to grow our local SGA, continue to be the voice for the student body, and become more involved in spreading awareness on world issues. As Albert Einstein once said, “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” Not sure how “fun” this fun fact is about myself, but I am left handed!
